Danni Wyatt scored a brilliant unbeaten 89 as England Women defeated India Women by 8 wickets in the third T20 international on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India Women lost young Shafali Verma for a second ball duck. Harleen Deol failed to impress with the bat as she fell to Sophie Ecclestone for just 6.
The pair of Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur added 68 runs for the third wicket before the latter was trapped leg before wicket to Nat Sciver for a 26 ball-36.
Mandhana, after scoring a fluent 70 was caught at deep mid wicket by Sciver off Katherine Brunt. Her knock came off 51 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.
Richa Ghosh in the end scored a quickfire 20 to take visitors to a competitive total of 153/6 after 20 overs.
Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers for England with figures of 3/35, while Katherine Brunt bagged 2 wickets.
Chasing 154, the home side lost Tammy Beaumont leg before wicket to Deepti Sharma. Wyatt along with Nat Sciver put on 112 runs for the second wicket before the latter was bowled by Sneh Rana for 42.
The 30 year old Wyatt hit the winning runs as the home side reached the target of 154 in 18.4 overs.
For India Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana claimed a wicket each.
Danni Wyatt was declared the Man of the Match.
