KKR vs PBKS Attendance 55,767 Eden Gardens Kolkata IPL April 2024

A fantastic crowd of 55,767 was officially present in attendance at the Eden Gardens on a hot summer evening for the IPL fixture between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS; formerly known as KXIP) on 26 April, 2024.

The Eden crowd was treated to a run-feast by both sets of batsmen. The attendance figure was announced on televsion during the PBKS chase.

Put into bat by PBKS skipper Sam Curran, KKR managed a whopping 261/6 in their 20 overs, riding primarily on the back of quickfire 70’s from openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine.

Punjab though scripted the biggest ever chase in IPL history with Jonny Bairstow (brought in for Liam Livingstone) scoring a century. Prabhsimran and Shashank Singh did their parts too, and PBKS chased down 262 with eight balls to spare!

Suryakumar Yadav scored a valiant 78 as Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by 9 runs at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first, Ishan Kishan (8) departed cheaply, hitting at a short and a wide delivery from Kagiso Rabada to Harpreet Brar at deep third man.

The pair of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar added 81 runs for the second wicket stand before the former fell to Sam Curran for 36. Yadav along with Tilak Varma put on 49 runs for the third wicket stand before the former fell to a magnificent catch by Prabhsimarn Singh at backward point for a 53 ball-78.

However cameos from Tim David (14) and Hardik Pandya (10) took Mumbai to 192/7 in their 20 overs. Chasing 193, Punjab Kings were rocked early as they lost first 4 wickets for 14.

Ashutosh Sharma (61) and Shashanak Singh (41) chipped in with valuable contributions, but wickets fell at regular intervals.

Harpreet Brar’s 20 ball-21 wasn’t enough as Punjab were bowled out for 183 in 19.1 overs, giving Mumbai a 9 run win.

Punjab Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Game 23 April 9 Mullanpur Match Report 2024

Nitish Kumar Reddy slammed a brilliant 64 as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Punjab Kings by 2 runs in a thriller at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium Tuesday.

After being asked to bat first, Sunrisers openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got their side off to a steady start. The pair added 27 runs for the opening wicket before the former (21) miscued a big hit off Arshdeep Singh to Shikhar Dhawan who took a fine running catch.

Two deliveries later, Aiden Markram nicked one behind the stumps for a duck. Abhishek (16) then mistimed a delivery from Sam Curran.

Abdul Samad’s late flourish in the end helped Sunrisers Hyderabad reach a competitive score of 182/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 183, Punjab lost wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan with the score on 20. However Shashank Singh’s unbeaten 46, followed by breezy unbeaten 15 ball- 33 brought them close to the target. But their effort was not enough as Punjab Kings finished at 180/6, thereby falling 2 run short of the target.
