Pakistan Women T20 Squad World Cup 2023 | Pakistan Women’s Roster T20 WC 2023 South Africa

The Pakistan Cricket team have named their 15 member squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in South Africa from February 10 to February 26 2023.

The team will be captained by Bismah Maroof. The Pakistan Women are placed in Group 2 for the competition alongside England, India, Ireland and West Indies.

They will begin their campaign against arch-rivals India on February 12 at Newlands in Cape Town. Ghulam Fatima, Kainat Imtiaz have been named as reserve players. This is also the same squad that will travel to Australia for the T20 series before the World Cup.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Groups List- Group 1 & Group 2

The ICC has announced the fixtures of the eight edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in South Africa next year.

The eight edition will begin on 10 February 2023 with Sri Lanka taking on South Africa.

In Group 1 we have Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, while India, England, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland will be featuring in Group 2.

India vs New Zealand First One Day International Hyderabad Match Report 2023

Michael Bracewell’s magnificent innings of 140 went in vain as New Zealand went down by 12 runs against India in the first one day international at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, openers Rohit Sharma along with Shubman Gill got India off to a solid start. The pair added 60 runs for the opening stand before the former perished while attempting a bat hit off Blair Tickner for 34.

Mitchell Santner provided the vital breakthrough by dismissing Virat Kohli (8) bowled with a beautiful delivery. Left hander Ishan Kishan fell soon after edging at a short of length delivery from Ferguson to keeper Tom Latham for 8.

Gill got a reprieve in the 19th over when skipper Latham missed a stumping chance off Bracewell. The talented Gill along with Suryakumar Yadav stitched together a 65 run stand for the fourth wicket before the latter chipped a delivery from Daryl Mitchell to Santner at covers for a 26 ball-31.

The 23 year old Gill featured in yet another valuable 74 run stand for the fifth wicket along with Hardik Pandya before the latter while attempting a cut off Mitchell was bowled for a 38 ball-28.

Henry Shipley claimed his maiden wicket by trapping Washington Sundar leg before wicket for 12. Shardul Thakur (3) was run out following a mix with Gill in the 47th over.

Shubman Gill reached his maiden double hundred by smacking Lockie Ferguson for three consecutive sixes. He however fell to a stupendous catch by Glenn Phillips at deep midwicket off Shipley in the final over for a swashbuckling 208. His knock came off 149 balls with 19 fours and 9 sixes.

India vs Sri Lanka Third One Day International Thiruvananthapuram Match Report 2023

Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli both scored dazzling centuries as India thumped Sri Lanka by 317 runs in the third and final one day international at Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday to complete a 3-0 sweep of their Asian rivals.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, openers Rohit Sharma and Gill got India off to a fantastic start. The pair added 95 runs for the opening wicket before Rohit pulled a delivery from Chamika Karunaratne to Nuwanidu Fernando at deep backward square leg for 42.

The 23 year old Gill along with Kohli added 131 runs for the second wicket before the former (116) was bowled by Kasun Rajitha while attempting a big hit.

Virat got a reprieve on 82, when Vandersay misjudged a catch on the boundary . The 34-year-old made most of the opportunity and reached his 46th ODI hundred off just 85 balls.
