Team India suffered their second consecutive defeat as they went down to New Zealand by 8 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to field first. Ishan Kishan who opened the innings alongside KL Rahul, fell cheaply as he lofted a Trent Boult delivery to Mitchell at deep square leg.
Rohit Sharma could have been dismissed of his very first delivery, but Adam Milne dropped a simple catch at long leg.
Rahul (18) fell soon as he dragged a Tim Southee delivery at deep square leg. Ish Sodhi then got into the act by claiming the prize scalps of Rohit and skipper Virat Kohli as India were reduced to 48/4.
Rishabh Pant along with Hardik Pandya added 22 runs for the fifth wicket before the former inside edged a Milne delivery on to his stumps for 12.
Hardik Pandya perished to Boult, being caught at long off, while trying to accelerate the score for 23. Left arm seamer Boult claimed his third wicket by dismissing Shardul Thakur (0), caught at long off.
Ravindra Jadeja scored a quickfire unbeaten 26, to take India to 110/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
For Black Caps Trent Boult claimed figures of 3/20, while Sodhi bagged 2 wickets.
Chasing 111, openers Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell got New Zealand off to a steady start. The pair added 24 runs for the opening wicket before the former miscued a Jasprit Bumrah slower delivery to Thakur at mid on.
Mitchell and skipper Kane Williamson put on 72 runs for the second wicket before the former missed his well deserved fifty by one run.
Williamson remained unbeaten on 33, as New Zealand reached the target in 14.3 overs.
Ish Sodhi was declared the Man of the Match.
