New Zealand announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming 2020 ICC World Cup to be held in UAE and Oman from October 17, 2021. Kane Williamson will be leading the side and Tim Southee will be his deputy at the mega tournament.
The Black Caps have included three spinners and four fast bowlers. The three spinners are Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, and Todd Astle, while the seam attacks consists of the likes of Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, and Kyle Jamieson along with all-rounders Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham.
South African born Devon Conway, who has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Black Caps test career, is also in the squad.
NZ’s T20 World Cup squad is also their squad that will do duty in the T20’s against India.
Pace bowler Adam Milne has been named as a standby and will travel with the squad to UAE.
The likes of veteran batsman Ross Taylor and all rounder Colin de Grandhomme were excluded from the squad. New Zealand are placed in Group 2 alongside India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and two qualifiers at the T-20 World Cup.
