Afif Hossain scored a breezy unbeaten 37 as Bangladesh defeated Australia by 5 wickets to go 2-0 up in the five-match T20I series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Australia lost both openers cheaply to Mahedi Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman respectively.
The pair of Mitchell Marsh and Moises Henriques resurrected the innings with a 57 run stand for the third wicket before the latter was bowled by Shakib Al Hasan.
Marsh was caught down the leg side by wicket keeper Nurul Hasan off Shoriful Islam for a well made 45.
Mustafizur then dismissed skipper Matthew Wade and Ashton Agar in consecutive deliveries as Aussies ended up with 121/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing 122, Bangladesh lost Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Naim very early.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mahedi Hasan added 37 runs for the third wicket before the former fell to Andrew Tye.
Australia then took a firm control of the game when left-arm spinner Ashton Agar removed skipper Mahmudullah for a duck and leg-spinner Adam Zampa dismissed Mahedi Hasan stumped for 23.
Afif Hossain (37* off 31) and Nurul Hasan (22* off 21) shared an unbroken 56 run stand to take Bangladesh to a thrilling 5 wicket win over Australia.
Afif Hossain was declared the Man of the Match.
