India and Australia will be locking horns in the first of the three T-20 internationals at the Gabba on Wednesday
Indian skipper Virat Kohli who was rested against the West Indies is back at the helm.
The home side will be depleted by the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner. Their batting was found wanting against South Africa, who won both the ODI’s and the one off T20 earlier this month.
The last time the two faced each other in this format in Australia, the visitors got the better of the home side by winning 3-0.
The Aussies would be looking to put their recent poor performance behind and come up with a better show against this in-form Indian side.
This will be yet another opportunity for the likes of Lokesh Rahul, Krunal Pandya and Rishabh Pant to showcase their talent.
Among the 12 that has been announced, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Washington Sundar and Umesh Yadav have been left out for the first T-20.
With the conditions favouring the fast men, the trio of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumarah and left arm bowler Khaleel Ahmed are expected to play, which means one among Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are likely to miss out.
