After being asked to bat first by DC skipper, Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad got Chennai off to a brilliant start. The duo featured in an 110 run stand for the opening wicket before the latter mistimed a pull off Anrich Nortje to Axar Patel at midwicket for 41.

Conway was involved in yet another 59 run stand alongside Shivam Dube. New Zealand left hander Conway’s brilliant knock ended when he edged an attempted ramp off Khaleel Ahmed to wicket keeper Rishabh Pant. The left-hander smashed 87 runs off just 49 deliveries, with 13 boundaries and 5 sixes.

Dube perished for 32 while trying to taking on Mitchell Marsh, caught at long on by David Warner.
