Punjab Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Game 23 April 9 Mullanpur Match Report 2024

Nitish Kumar Reddy slammed a brilliant 64 as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Punjab Kings by 2 runs in a thriller at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium Tuesday.

After being asked to bat first, Sunrisers openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got their side off to a steady start. The pair added 27 runs for the opening wicket before the former (21) miscued a big hit off Arshdeep Singh to Shikhar Dhawan who took a fine running catch.

Two deliveries later, Aiden Markram nicked one behind the stumps for a duck. Abhishek (16) then mistimed a delivery from Sam Curran.

Abdul Samad’s late flourish in the end helped Sunrisers Hyderabad reach a competitive score of 182/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 183, Punjab lost wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan with the score on 20. However Shashank Singh’s unbeaten 46, followed by breezy unbeaten 15 ball- 33 brought them close to the target. But their effort was not enough as Punjab Kings finished at 180/6, thereby falling 2 run short of the target.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Gujarat Titans Game 21 April 7 Lucknow Match Report

Yash Thakur claimed figures of 5/30 as Lucknow defeated Gujarat by 33 runs at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, LSG were rocked early as Quinton de Kock (6) and Devdutt Padikkal (7) fell with the score on 18.

The pair of KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis added 73 runs for the third wicket stand before the former fell to Darshan Nalkande for 33.

Nalkande claimed his second wicket of the game by dismissing Stoinis caught while attempting a big hit for 58.

Nicholas Pooran (32)* and Ayush Badoni (20)* provided the finishing touches in the end to take Lucknow to a competitive score of 163/5 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 164, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan got Gujarat off to a brisk start. The duo added 54 runs for the opening stand before the former was cleaned up by a fuller delivery from Thakur for 19.

Kane Williamson then fell to a brilliant one handed return catch by Ravi Bishnoi for 1. Sudarshan looked good in his innings of 31, before top edging a short delivery from Krunal Pandya to Ravi Bishnoi at deep mid wicket.

Thakur then rocked the lower order of Gujarat to claim five wicket haul. Despite fine efforts from Rahul Tewatia (30), The Titans were bowled out for 130 in 18.5 overs. thereby falling 33 run short of the target.

SRH vs CSK 2024 Attendance 35,992 Uppal Hyderabad Stadium April 5

An official crowd of 35,992, most in the yellow of Chennai rather than the orange of the home team, saw Sunrisers Hyderabad continue their strong start to the new season as they beat CSK by six wickets.

CSK struggled at the backend of their innings, with only Shivam Dube giving the innings any real impetus. They scored 50 odd in the last seven overs.

The target could’ve been tricky for SRH, but they raced away in the powerplay, knowing that the ball would become slower and scoring would be tougher in the end stages. They made 78 in their first 6, and that allowed them to comfortably stroll home despite CSK’s spinners putting the brakes in the second half of the chase.
