Kuldeep Yadav claimed figures of 4/18 as India beat South Africa by 7 wickets in the third one day international in Delhi on Tuesday.
India went in with an unchanged line up while South Africa brought in Marco Jansen , Andile Phehlukwayo and Lungi Ngidi for Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj and Wayne Parnell.
After being put into bat by skipper Shikhar Dhawan, South Africa got off to a poor start as Quinton De Kock (6) slashed at a wide delivery from Washington Sundar to Avesh Khan at short third man.
Mohammed Siraj then struck twice- first by dismissing Janneman Malan mistiming one to Avesh Khan at deep square and then bagging Reeza Hendricks who was undone by a brilliant short ball and ended up slicing one to substitute fielder Ravi Bishnoi at short fine.
Aiden Markram fell cheaply edging one to wicket keeper Sanju Samson off Shahbaz Ahmed. The pair of Heinrich Klaasen and stand in skipper David Miller resurrected the innings with a fifth wicket stand of 23 runs before the latter was cleaned up by an arm ball from Washington Sundar.
Kuldeep Yadav then ran through the visitor’s middle and lower order as they were bowled out for 99 in 27.1 overs.
Chasing 100, openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill got India off to a solid start. The duo added 42 runs for the opening stand before the former was involved in a mix up with Gill and was run out for 8.
Ishan Kishan fell cheaply, edging one to De Kock off Fortuin for 10. Gill and Shreyas Iyer added 39 runs for the third wicket before the former (49) fell one run short of a well deserved fifty and was trapped right in front by Lungi Ngidi.
Iyer hit the winning runs by smashing Jansen for a maximum over long-off, as The Men in Blue reached the target in just 19.1 overs.
With this victory the hosts won the series 2-1.
Kuldeep was declared the Man of the Match and Siraj was adjudged The Player of the Series.
