Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans May 24 Kolkata Qualifier 1 Match Report 2022

David Miller scored a sizzling unbeaten 68, as Gujarat Titans entered the final by defeating the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday.

The pair of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson were involved in a 68 run stand for the second wicket before the latter dragged at a Sai Kishore delivery to Alzarri Joseph at long-on for a 26 ball-47.

Devdutt Padikkal looked good in his innings of 28, before he dragged an off-cutter from Hardik Pandya back onto the stumps.

Buttler along with Shimron Hetmyer put on 45 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter perished to Mohammed Shami, caught at long on by Rahul Tewatia.

The England wicket keeper batsman who was let off twice, made Gujarat pay by smashing 89 off just 56 balls to propel Rajasthan Royals to 188/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 189, GT started disastrously by losing Wriddhiman Saha in the first over to Trent Boult for a duck.

Shubman Gill and Matthew Wade added 72 runs for the second wicket before the former was run out by a brilliant throw by Devdutt Padikkal from deep midwicket for 35.

Obed McCoy then got into the act by dismissing Wade, caught at deep midwicket boundary by Buttler for a 30 ball-35.

David Miller (68*) and Hardik Pandya (40)* put on an unbeaten 106 run stand for the fourth wicket. The South African left hander smashed Prasidh Krishna for three consecutive sixes off the first three balls to take Gujarat home with three balls to spare.
