India vs West Indies Third ODI Ahmedabad Match Report 2022

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant scored respective half centuries as India defeated West Indies b 96 runs in the third one day international in Ahmedabad on Friday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first,India started disastrously by losing Rohit Sharma (13) and Virat Kohli (0) to Alzarri Joseph.

Odean Smith then got into the act by dismissing Shikhar Dhawan caught at first slip by Jason Holder for 10, leaving the hosts in a spot of bother at 42/3.

The pair of Shreyas Iyer along with Rishabh Pant resurrected the innings with a 110 run stand for the fourth wicket before the latter edged a Hayden Walsh delivery to Shai Hope behind the stumps for 56.

Suryakumar Yadav (6) fell cheaply as he sliced an inside out shot off Fabian Allen to Brooks.

Walsh then claimed his second wicket by dismissing the well set Iyer caught at long off Bravo for 80.

Washington Sundar along with Deepak Chahar put on 53 valuable runs for the seventh wicket before the latter gloved a Holder delivery behind the stumps for a run ball 38.

The 30 year old Holder then polished off the tail, as India were bowled out for 265.

For the visitors, Jason Holder was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/34, while Alzarri Joseph and Hayden Walsh claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing 266, Mohammed Siraj got India off to a fine start by trapping Shai Hope leg before wicket for 5.

Deepak Chahar pegged the Windies back with wickets of Brandon King (14) and Shamarh Brooks (0).

The duo of Darren Bravo along with Nicholas Pooran put on 43 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter edged a Prasidh Krishna delivery to Virat Kohli at second slip.

Krishna also dismissed Jason Holder for 6. Left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav bagged the wickets of Fabian Allen (0) and Nicholas Pooran (34) to leave West Indies in huge trouble at 82/7.

Odean Smith scored a breezy 18 ball-36, before slicing a Mohammed Siraj short delivery to Shikhar Dhawan at extra cover.

Alzarri Joseph and Hayden Walsh kept the hosts at bay with a frustrating 47 run stand for the ninth wicket before the latter was caught at leg gully by Rohit Sharma off Siraj.

Krishna claimed the final wicket by dismissing Alzarri Joseph caught at deep midwicket as the Men in Blue completed a 3-0 whitewash.

For India, Mohammed Siraj along with Prasidh Krishna claimed three wickets each.

Shreyas Iyer was declared the Man of the Match.
