Oman vs Scotland ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 21 October Al Amerat Match Report 2021

Skipper Kyle Coetzer led from the front by scoring a quickfire 41 as Scotland registered their third win by defeating Oman by eight wickets in Al Amerat on Thursday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Oman got off to the worst start by losing Jatinder Singh run out in the very first over for a duck.

Kashyap Prajapati (3) hit a Safyaan Sharif delivery to Munsey at mid off.

The pair of Aqib Ilyas and Mohammad Nadeem added 34 runs for the third wicket before the former was dismissed by Michael Leask, caught at long off by Munsey for 37.

Mohammad Nadeem looked good in his knock of 25 before falling to a brilliant catch by Berrington off Watt.

Scotland chipped away with wickets of Sandeep Goud (5), Naseem Khushi (2) and Suraj Kumar (4) reducing Oman to 105/7.

Skipper Zeeshan Maqsood scored a valuable 34, as Oman were bowled out for 122 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 123, the opening pair of George Munsey and skipper Kyle Coetzer got Scotland off to a steady start. The pair added 33 runs before the former was dismissed by Fayyaz Butt for 20.

Coetzer’s breezy knock ended as he failed to get to the pitch of a delivery and was bowled from Khawar Ali for a 28 ball-41.

The pair of Matthew Cross and Richie Berrington added an unbeaten 48 run stand for the third wicket as Scotland reached the target of 123 with 18 balls to spare.

The Scotish side will now join India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and New Zealand in Group 2.

Josh Davey was declared the Man of the Match.
