Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders 29 April Ahmedabad Match Report 2021

Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw scored a swashbuckling 82, as Delhi Capitals thumped the Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first by DC skipper Rishabh Pant, KKR lost Nitish Rana early stumped by wicket keeper Pant off Axar Patel for 15.

Gill and Rahul Tripathi put on 44 runs for the second wicket before the former was caught at deep cover by Lalit Yadav off Marcus Stoinis.

Lalit Yadav claimed the wickets of skipper Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine leaving them in a spot of bother at 75/4.

The 21 year old talented Gill’s resistance finally ended when he mistimed a slower ball from Avesh Khan to Steve Smith at long-on for 43.

Andre Russell scored a quickfire 45 off 27 balls to lift Knight Riders to a competitive total of 154/6.

Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav claimed 2 wickets each for Delhi.

Chasing 155, Prithvi Shaw got DC off to a spectacular start smashing Shivam Mavi for six consecutive fours in the first over. Shaw along with Shikhar Dhawan were involved in a 132 run stand for the opening wicket before the former was trapped leg before wicket by Pat Cummins for 46.

Shaw’s magnificent knock ended when he top-edged a Cummins delivery to Rana at point. The Delhi skipper, in an attempt to finish the game perished at the long on boundary for 16. Marcus Stoinis hit the winning runs by scoring a boundary off Prasidh Krishna.
