India vs Afghanistan Asia Cup Super 4 Match Preview-2018

Afghanistan will be looking to end their Asia Cup campaign on a high when they take on India in their final Super 4 game in Dubai on Tuesday.

After a fantastic group stage campaign that saw them beat both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh convincingly, the Afghans would’ve fancied their chances of reaching the final, but two last over Super 4 defeats against Pakistan and the Tigers put paid to their hopes.

After mauling Pakistan in their second match in the Super Four, India have booked their spot in the final of the Asia Cup to be played on Friday, with Rohit Sharma’s men set to take on the winner of the Pakistan v Bangladesh game, a virtual semifinal that will take place in Abu Dhabi at the very next day after the India Afghanistan clash.

The likes of MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik haven’t really been tested in this tournament, with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma doing the bulk of the scoring at the top of the order.

With this effectively being a dead rubber, India might chose to give young Khaleel Ahmed another go. The left arm pacer from Tonk impressed in his debut against Hong Kong, and this match looks like another opportunity to give him some game time.

One among Siddarth Kaul/ Deepak Chahar are also likely to feature in the playing XI.

India would be contemplating giving KL Rahul who made a magnificent century in the final test match against England a go in place of Dhawan.

Hasmatullah Shahidi, Mohammad Shahzad, and Rahmat Shah have been in terrific form in this tournament for Afghanistan, along with the spin trio comprising of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi.
