Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Asia Cup Match Report-2018

Leg Spinner Rashid Khan shone with both bat and ball as Afghanistan thumped Bangladesh by 136 runs in their final group match of the Asia Cup 2018 in Sheikh Zayed Stadium at Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Afghans suffered an early jolt when they lost their opening batsman Ihsanullah for 8 runs.

Wickets continued to tumble, but some useful resistance down the order by Hashmatullah Shahidi, Gulbadin Naib and 20 year old Rashid helped Afghanistan propel to a respectable score of 255/7 in their allotted 50 overs.

Shahidi notched up a brilliant half-century, before falling to Rubel Hossain caught by wicket keeper Liton Das for a well made 58.

Later, Rashid Khan and Naib contributed with some vital runs down the order to help Afghanistan post a challenging total. They added an unbroken partnership of 95 runs for the eighth wicket.
