India vs Ireland Second T-20 Match Report-2018

Indian team in the second T-20 thumped Ireland by 143 runs and with that clinching the T20I series 2-0.

The spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav once again tormented the Irish batting line up by together picking up 6 wickets for 37 runs and bundling out the hosts for 70 runs in just 12.3 overs.

Chasing a daunting task of 214 runs, Ireland never seemed to be in the game. Umesh Yadav in his comeback T-20 game, picked up the wickets of Paul Stirling and William Porterfield in successive overs.

Debutant Siddarth Kaul claimed his first international wicket in form of James Shannon.

Irish middle order crumbled like a pack of cards as most batsmen could not even get to double digits scores.

Skipper Garry Wilson was the only highest scorer for the Irish team.

Both Indian spinners took 3 wickets each, and gave away 16 and 21 runs respectively.

Earlier, in the first innings, Hardik Pandya blitzkrieg 32 runs of 9 balls helped India post a mammoth 213 runs in the second T20I at The Village, Dublin.

In the final stages, Pandya hammered 4 sixes to help India get past 200 for the second time in the series.

After winning the toss for the second time, Ireland skipper sent India to bat first much to the surprise.

KL Rahul opened the innings along with with Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Kohli departed early after scoring just 9 runs but Rahul and Suresh Raina looked sublime with the bat by putting on an 102 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket.

Though Rohit Sharma departed for a duck, Pandya stealed the show with his terrific hitting towards the end. For Ireland, Kevin O’Brien was the most successful bowler by claiming 3 wickets for 40 runs.

This is the first time Indian team have won a T20I by more than 100 runs.
