India vs Ireland First T-20 Match Report-2018

India’s opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave the team a rollicking start to their tour where the duo put on 160 runs, the second-highest for India in T20Is, and provided momentum enough to lay the rest of the game in a 76 run win at Malahide.

Ireland opener James Shannon impressed by striking a maiden T20I fifty, but the rest of batsman badly struggled against the Indian spinners.

Chasing a mammoth target of 209, Ireland got off to a bad start as Jasprit Bumrah drew the first blood by picking up Paul Sterling in the second over of the game.

The spinners put a strangle hold in the the entire Irish middle order by picking wickets at regular intervals. The host collapsed like a pack of cards.

James Shannon’s 60 off 35 balls was the only positive for the Irish team as the other batsman failed to get going. In the end Ireland fell short by 76 runs.
