Indian Team will be looking to begin their English summer on a positive note as they will be facing Ireland in the first of the two T-20s at The Village, Dublin on Wednesday.
Team India for the first time will be in full strength and will be seen in action, since the tour of South Africa earlier this year.
Ahead of the first T20I, Kohli and the team management will have a dilemma over the selection of the playing XI.
With a opening trio of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma settled and Kohli at No. 3, Lokesh Rahul seems likely to grab the No. 4 spot .
It will be an toss up between Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey, as Dhoni and Hardik Pandya will be filling the No. 6 and 7 spots.
On the bowling front, Kohli will be tempted to use both leg-spinners by giving them an early taste of conditions.
The pace department will be led by the ever reliable Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah, even as Umesh Yadav will be eager to make a make a nma in the shortest version for India for the first time since 2012.
After the T-20 international against Ireland, Virat Kohli and his men will be departing for the England tour where they will be playing three T20Is, three One-day Internationals and five Test matches.
For the hosts Irish skipper Gary Wilson, former captain William Porterfield and all-rounder Kevin O’Brien are the ones to have T20 experience. They will be hoping to give a good fight against the strong Indian side.
