Shahid Afridi’s sensational first T-20 century in 43 balls helped Hampshire rout Derbyshire by 101 Runs. His knock consisted of 7 Sixes and 10 Fours.
Hampshire’s innings fell apart at the end, with five wickets falling for 17 runs in the space of nine deliveries, but Afridi’s blitz and a support from James Vince’s 55 off 36 balls and 27 off 11 by George Bailey, enabled them to build a sizable total thereby taking them to the finals and also breaking several records. They reached the finals for the seventh time in eight years. It was also Hampshire’s highest total. surpassing their 225 against Middlesex in 2006, and the fourth-highest by any team in domestic T20 in this country.
