Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed figures of 4/34 as Afghanistan kept their semi finals hopes alive by toppling Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in Pune on Monday. The Afg vs SL game in Gahunje had an official crowd attendance of 12,177– a very decent figure for a weekday match not involving the hosts.
The result took Afghanistan to fifth in the table- they have games against the Netherlands, Australia and South Africa coming up.
Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan scored fantastic centuries as Pakistan pulled off a highest ever run chase by defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Here is a look at South Africa’s record against Sri Lanka in ICC events (World Cup + Champions Trophy) ahead of their 2023 World Cup opener in Delhi this weekend.
Somewhat interestingly, the Proteas have a very good H2H record against Sri Lanka in ICC events, winning 10 of the 14 games between the two sides so far. The only defeats came back in 1992 (World Cup) and 2009 & 2014 (T20 World Cups).
The Proteas beat SL in both the 2015 (quarterfinal) and 2019 World Cups and will be looking to make it a hat trick of victories at the Ferozshah Kotla this weekend.
Here are the kits that will be worn by the 10 teams that will be featuring in the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 starting next month.
All ten teams will be playing nine games each in the round-robin format, with the top four qualifying for the semi-finals. The opening match will start with defending champions England squaring off against New Zealand on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Sri Lanka have launched their new kit ahead of the upcoming World Cup scheduled to take place in India later next month.
The team will be captained by Dasun Shanaka with Kusal Mendis being named his deputy.
The Lankans will play two warm-up games against Bangladesh and Afghanistan on 29 September & 2 October. They will then play their tournament opener on 7 October against South Africa at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
