Proteas squad for India Series 2023-2024- South Africa roster for Indian home Test, ODI & T20 series

South Africa have named their squad for the upcoming for the upcoming home series against India beginning December 10. The tour comprises of three ODIs, three T20Is, and two Test matches.

Aiden Markram will be leading the Proteas in the ODI and T20 series, while Temba Bavuma will be captaining the test side. The likes of Bavuma, Gerald Coetzee and Kagiso Rabada have been rested for the one day series after playing the World Cup, where SA reached the semi finals before losing to eventual champions Australia. South Africa vs Australia Attendance 47,825 Eden Gardens Kolkata 2023 Cricket World Cup 2nd Semi Final

A fine-all round performance from Travis Head helped Australia edge South Africa in a thriller in front of a 47,825 strong crowd at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The three-wicket victory saw Pat Cummins’ men book a spot in Sunday’s final against hosts India in Ahmedabad.

Perhaps wary of their own tendency to “choke” while chasing, Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma opted to bat first after winning the toss. It however backfired spectacularly as Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood reduced them to 24/4 under cloudy conditions.

Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller put South Africa on the path of recovery but just as Klaasen was threatening to open up, Cummins introduced the part-time spin of Head, and he accounted for Klaasen and all-rounder Marco Jansen in successive balls to peg the Proteas back again. South Africa vs Afghanistan Ahmedabad Attendance 10,927 Cricket World Cup 2023 Narendra Modi Stadium

Rassie van der Dussen scored a fine unbeaten 76 in front of 10,927 crowd as South Africa beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday.

Afghanistan went in with Same XI, while South Africa made two changes, with Phehlukwayo and Coetzee coming in for Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi.

After being asked to bat first, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran got Afghanistan off to a steady start. The pair added 41 runs for the opening stand before the former was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj for 25.

Ibrahim Zadran fell soon after for 15. Maharaj claimed his second wicket of the innings by dismissing skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi (2) leaving their side in a spot of bother at 45/3.

Rahmat Shah along with Azmatullah Omarzai put on 49 runs for the fourth wicket stand before Lungi Ngidi broke the stand by claiming Rahmat for 26.

Afghanistan lost a bit of momentum in the middle stages, but a superb unbeaten 97 by Azmatullah Omarzai helped them reach 244 in their allotted 50 overs.

In response, Quinton de Kock and skipper Temba Bavuma got South Africa off to a solid start. The duo added 64 runs for the opening stand before Mujeeb Ur Rahman broke the stand by dismissing Bavuma for 23.

Rassie van der Dussen along with Aiden Markram put on 50 runs for the third wicket stand before the latter fell to Rashid Khan for 25.

Andile Phehlukwayo playing his first game of the tournament, put on an unbeaten 65 run stand for the sixth wicket to take Proteas to a comfortable fifth wicket win. Van der Dussen remained unbeaten on 76.

With the loss, Afghanistan are officially eliminated from the tournament.

South Africa vs New Zealand Pune Attendance 31,940 Gahunje 2023 Cricket World Cup 1 November

An excellent crowd of 31,940 was in attendance at the MCA Stadium in Gahunje, Pune as South Africa went to the top of the table after thrashing New Zealand by 190 runs. The result saw NZ’s run rate drop from 1.23 to 0.48, and potentially opens the door for Pakistan, whose next game is against the Black Caps in Bangalore.

Somewhat oddly, Black Caps skipper Tom Latham opted to put South Africa in after winning the toss, and it backfired badly as centuries from Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen took the Proteas to an imposing 357/5 in their 50 overs.
