India, West Indies, South Africa Women T20I Tri Series Squads 2023

Here are the list of players and teams that will featuring in the T20I series that will be played in South Africa from January 19 to February 2.

The teams participating are India Women, South Africa Women and West Indies Women. All the matches will be played at the Buffalo Park in East London.

The first game will be played between India Women and South Africa Women on January 19.

India U-19 Women Squad World Cup 2023 Shafali Verma captain | U19 Indian Women’s Roster WC 2023 South Africa

The BCCI announced a 15 member squad for the upcoming U-19 World Cup scheduled to be held in South Africa from 14 January to 29 January 2023.

They have also named their squad for the bilateral T20 series against South Africa.

The team will be captained by young Shafali Verma with Shweta Sehrawat being named her deputy. India are Group D alongside South Africa, UAE and Scotland respectively. The interesting part is that Verma and wicket keeper Richa Ghosh are already regulars for India at senior level, which makes this side one of the favourites for the tournament given the duo’s experience.

India vs Australia Women DY Patil Nerul Attendance 45,238 | Crowd Figure for 2nd T20 December 11 2022

A huge crowd of 45,238 were in attendance for the second T20 international between India Women and Australia Women at the DY Patil Stadium in Nerul (Mumbai) on December 11, 2022.

The game was a prime time one- at 7pm on a weekend in one of India’s biggest cities, and the fantastic crowd number augurs well for the future for women’s cricket in India.

The hosts won the game in the Super Over, handing Australia Women their first defeat in this format (T20I) in 2022.

The first T20 international between INDW and AUSW at the same venue (a couple of days ago on a weekday) saw a crowd of around 25,000. For comparison the U17 Women’s Football World Cup final between Spain and Colombia earlier this year at the same venue also had a 25,000-ish crowd.
