England XI for Ranchi Test vs England 2024- Ollie Robinson and Shoaib Bashir return to the playing XI

England have made two changes to their playing 11 for the fourth Test against India in Ranchi beginning 23 February, Friday. They have included pacer Ollie Robinson and spinner Shoaib Bashir for Mark Wood and Rehan Ahmed, respectively.

The visitors will be hoping to make a come back in the series after losing to India by 434 runs.

India vs England Third Test Day 4 Rajkot Match Report 2024

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his second successive hundred and Ravindra Jadeja claimed figures of 5/41 as the hosts registered their biggest win in test cricket by thumping England by 434 runs on Day 4 of the third Test in Rajkot on Sunday.

Resuming at 196/2, the overnight pair of Gill along with nightwatchman Kuldeep Yadav added 50 more runs before the former was run out following a mix up with Kuldeep for 91.

Kuldeep’s fighting knock of 27 ended, as he was caught at slip by Root off Ahmed. Jaiswal(214)* who was retired hurt, resumed his innings as he along with Sarfaraz Khan (68)* added an unbroken 172 runs for the fifth wicket stand, as India declared their innings at 430/4 with an overall lead of 556.

Chasing 557, England lost Ben Duckett (4) early was run out for 4 following a horrible mix-up with Zak Crawley. Bumrah then got into the act by trapping Crawley leg before wicket for 11.

Ravindra Jadeja struck in the final session of play, by dismissing Ollie Pope (3) caught at slip by Rohit Sharma while attempting a square cut.

Jonny Bairstow’s (4), poor run with the bat continued, as he was trapped leg before wicket by Jadeja. Joe Root (7) and England skipper Ben Stokes (15) both fell leg before wicket while attempting a sweep, as the visitors slumped to 50/6.

Rehan Ahmed (0) was caught at long-on while trying to take on Kuldeep. Ben Foakes and Tom Hartley added 32 runs for the eight wicket stand before the former (16) was caught behind the stumps while attempting a late cut off Ravi Jadeja.

Ravi Ashwin who rejoined the team on Sunday, claimed a solitary wicket by dismissing Hartley bowled for 16. Jadeja claimed a well deserved fifer by dismissing Mark Wood caught at long off by Jadeja for a breezy 15 ball,33 as England were bowled out for 122, giving India a 434 run win.

India vs England Second Test Day 4 Visakhapatnam Match Report 2024

Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin starred with the ball as India beat England by 106 runs in the second Test at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Monday to level the five-match series 1-1.

Resuming at overnight score of 67/1, Zak Crawley and nightwatchman Rehan Ahmed added 28 more runs before Axar Patel provided the breakthrough by trapping Ahmed leg before wicket for 23.

The pair of Crawley and Ollie Pope added 37 runs for the third wicket before the latter fell to a brilliant catch by skipper Rohit Sharma at slip off Ravi Ashwin.

Root then miscued an hoick off Ashwin to Patel at backward point for 16. Kuldeep Yadav then provided the vital breakthrough by trapping Crawley leg before wicket with a delivery that kept low for 73.

Jasprit Bumrah then claimed Jonny Bairstow (26) leg before wicket just before lunch as England slumped to 194/6. Ben Stokes then fell to a superb one handed pick up and throw from short midwicket by Shreyas Iyer for 11.

The pair of Ben Foakes along with Tom Hartley frustrated the hosts by adding 55 runs for the eight wicket stand before Bumrah ended the stand by dismissing Foakes (36) caught and bowled. Shoaib Bashir (0) then nicked an outswinger from Mukesh Kumar behind the stumps.

The MI star pacer then wrapped up the innings by knocking over Hartley (36) with a peach, as the visitors were bowled out for 292, falling short by 106 runs.
