Potentially crucial toss won, solid Pujara & More- Talking Points from Chattogram
A gritty 90 from veteran Cheteshwar Pujara helped India finish the opening day of the first test in Chattogram at 278/6. The visitors were reduced to 48/3 early in their innings with skipper KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli all back in the pavillion, but Pujara held the innings together, first in the company of the swashbuckling Rishabh Pant and then with Shreyas Iyer. Young Zakir Hasan was rewarded for his fine recent performances with Bangladesh A- he made 173 in Cox’s Bazar to save a test against India A, with the hosts giving him a debut here. But was axing veteran Mominul Haque on this ground the right decision? His poor recent form elsewhere aside, Mominul averages a whopping 60+ in Chattogram and has scored seven centuries at this venue. India vs Australia Women DY Patil Nerul Attendance 45,238 | Crowd Figure for 2nd T20 December 11 2022
A huge crowd of 45,238 were in attendance for the second T20 international between India Women and Australia Women at the DY Patil Stadium in Nerul (Mumbai) on December 11, 2022.
The game was a prime time one- at 7pm on a weekend in one of India’s biggest cities, and the fantastic crowd number augurs well for the future for women’s cricket in India.
The hosts won the game in the Super Over, handing Australia Women their first defeat in this format (T20I) in 2022.
The first T20 international between INDW and AUSW at the same venue (a couple of days ago on a weekday) saw a crowd of around 25,000. For comparison the U17 Women’s Football World Cup final between Spain and Colombia earlier this year at the same venue also had a 25,000-ish crowd.
New Sydney Sixers Aware Super Jersey Sponsor 2022-23 | Sixers BBL Nike Kit 22-23
This is the new Sydney Sixers jersey for 2022/23, the Sixers’ new kit for the upcoming Big Bash League season. Made by Nike, it features a significant change in shirt sponsor from the 2021 edition, with Aware Super now on the front of the jersey (the 2021 Sixers T20 uniform had IINet as its principal partner)
The Sixers finished second in the 2021/22 edition of the BBL and were beaten in the grand final by the Perth Scorchers.
