The BCCI on Thursday named the squad for the T20I’s and the one dayers for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka beginning in July.
The tour comprises off three T20Is followed by three one dayers. The three T20Is will be played in Pallekele on July 27, 28, and 30, while the three ODIs will take place in Colombo on August 2, 4, and 7 respectively.
Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the T20I squad. Rohit Sharma who retired from T20I after leading The Men in Blue to the 2024 World Cup win will be back at the helm for the one day set up.
Star bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the entire tour, while Hardik Pandya has been included just in T20 international. The likes of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul return to the squad after injuries.
Young Shubman Gill has been named vice captain in both T20I & ODI’s. Harshit Rana has received an maiden ODI call-up.
This will be India’s first assignment under new coach Gautam Gambhir.
