Abhishek Sharma scored a dazzling hundred as India thumped Zimbabwe by 100 runs in the second T20 international at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India lost skipper Shubman Gill early for 2. However the pair of Abhishek and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 137 runs for the second wicket stand.

The Sunrisers left hander who was dropped on 20 by Masakadza, capitalized on the opportunity by scoring a sparkling 47 ball, 100 before perishing to short third man. His innings comprised off 7 fours and 8 sixes.

Ruturaj provided solid support in the end by scoring a fine 77. Rinku Singh provided finishing touches in the end by scoring a quickfire 48 to help India reach a mammoth score of 234/2 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 235, Mukesh Sharma got the visitors off to a dream start by knocking over Innocent Kaia (4) in the very first over. The pair of Wessly Madhevere and Brian Bennett added 36 runs for the second wicket stand before the latter perished to Mukesh for a breezy 9 ball-26.

Avesh then struck twice- first by dismissing Dion Myers (0) and then claiming Sikandar Raza (4). The hosts lost half their side, when Johnathan Campbell slogged swept Washington Sundar to Ravi Bishnoi at deep backward square leg.

Luke Jongwe (33) delayed the inevitable, but it was not enough as the hosts were bundled out for 134, giving the visitors a 100 run win.
