Tabraiz Shamsi bagged figures of 3/27 as South Africa booked their spot in their semi finals by knocking over West Indies by 3 wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Monday.
After being asked to bat first, West Indies started disastrously by losing Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran early in the innings with the score on 5.
However Kyle Mayers along with Roston Chase added 81 runs for the third wicket stand before Tabraiz Shamsi broke the stand by dismissing the former for 35.
Skipper Rovman Powell and Sherfane Rutherford fell cheaply as the Windies slumped to 94/5.
Tabraiz Shamsi claimed three wickets as the Proteas restricted them to 135/8 in their 20 overs.
Chasing a revised target of 123, South Africa were pegged back with wickets of of Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock very early.
Contributions from Heinrich Klaasen (22) and Tristan Stubbs (29), followed up by a quickfire 14 ball-21 from Marco Jansen helped South Africa reach the target with 5 balls to spare.
