Chasing 182, Bumrah got India off to dream start by dismissing the dangerous Rahmanullah Gurbaz caught behind the stumps for 11. Axar Patel then got into the act by dismissing Ibrahim Zadran (8) caught at extra cover.

Gulbadin Naib and Azatullah Omarzai added 44 runs for the fourth wicket stand before the former perished to Kuldeep Yadav for 17.

Indian spinners struck at regular intervals as Afghanistan lost their last five wickets for 32 runs. In the end they were eventually bowled out for 134 runs.
