Riyan Parag scored a magnificent half century as Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday.
After being asked to bat first, Trent Boult got Rajasthan off to a dream start by snaring wickets of Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir and Dewald Brevis with the score on 14.
Nandre Burger then got into the act by dismissing Ishan Kishan for 16. The pair of Tilak Varma along with skipper Hardik Pandya resurrected the innings with a valuable 56 run stand for the fifth wicket before the latter perished while trying to take on Yuzvendra Chahal for 34.
Varma and Tim David provided some useful contributions towards the end to take Mumbai to a respectable score of 125/9 in their 20 overs.
In response, Kwena Maphaka dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal in the very first over for 10. The pair of Jos Buttler along with skipper Sanju Samson added 32 runs for the second wicket stand before the latter was cleaned up by Akash Madhwal for 12. Madhwal also dismissed Jos Buttler for 13.
The pair of Riyan Parag along with Ravi Ashwin added 40 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter was dismissed for 16. Parag reached his second half century of the season as the Royals reached the target with 27 balls to spare.
