Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings Game 13 March 31 Visakhapatnam Match Report 2024

David Warner and skipper Rishabh Pant scored fine half centuries as Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs at Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Delhi Capitals opening pair of Warner and Prithvi Shaw got their side off to a magnificent start. The duo added 93 runs for the opening wicket before the former while attempting a reverse scoop fell to a spectacular one handed catch by Matheesha Pathirana off Mustafizur Rahman for 52.

Ravi Jadeja then got into the act by dismissing Shaw (43) caught behind the stumps while attempting a cut. Pathirnana then pegged DC back by knocking over both Mitchell Marsh (18) and Tristan Stubbs (0) in the 15th over.

Skipper Pant (51) provided a final flourish in the end by smashing Pathirana for a six and a four off consecutive deliveries to take Delhi to 191/5 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 192, Khaleel got Capitals off to a dream start by snaring wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad (1) and Rachin Ravindra (2) with the score on 7.

The pair of Ajinkya Rahane and Daryl Mitchell added 68 runs for the third wicket stand before the latter chipped a return catch to Axar Patel for 34.

Rahane then miscued a slower delivery from Mukesh Kumar to Warner at long on. Sameer Rizvi was then caught at short third by Ahmed for a golden duck.

MS Dhoni scored a breezy unbeaten 16 ball-37, but it was too late as CSK ended up with 171/6, thereby falling 20 runs of the target.
