India vs West Indies First Test Day 3 Dominica Match Report 2023

Ravichandran Ashwin claimed figures of 7/71 as India Thumped West Indies by an innings and 141 runs on Day 3 of the opening test at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica on Friday.

Resuming at an overnight score of 312/2, Yashasvi Jaiswal (171) missed out on a double hundred, nicking a length delivery from Alzarri Joseph to wicket keeper Joshua Da Silva behind the stumps.

Vice captain Ajinkya Rahane then perished to Kemar Roach for 3. Virat Kohli (76) nicked at a sharp turning and bouncing delivery from Rahkeem Cornwall to Alick Athanaze at leg slip.

The visitors eventually declared their innings at 421/5, with an overall lead of 271. Ravindra Jadeja was unbeaten on 37 and Ishan Kishan was batting on 1.

In response, West Indies lost Tagenarine Chanderpaul (7), leg before wicket to Jadeja with a fuller delivery. Ravi Ashwin then got into the act by dismissing captain Kraigg Brathwaite for 7.

The star off spinner struck early in the second session, by trapping Jermaine Blackwood leg before wicket for 5.

The hosts lost half their side for 58 when Mohammed Siraj dismissed Joshua Da Silva (13) right in front of the stumps.

Alick Athanaze looked good in his innings of 28, before falling to Ashwin. The 36 year old Ashwin claimed 7 wickets as West Indies were bundled out for 130, giving India a massive win by and innings and 141 runs.
