Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Rohit Sharma scored fine centuries as India dominated Day 2 of the opening test against West Indies in Dominica on Thursday.
Resuming at 80/0, the overnight pair of Jaiswal and Rohit added 149 more runs before Alick Athanaze claimed his maiden wicket by dismissing the latter for a fine 103.
Shubman Gill (6) who came in at No 3 departed cheaply, as he nicked a tossed-up delivery from Jomel Warrican to Athanaze at second slip.
However the pair of Jaiswal (143)* and Virat Kohli (36)* kept the hosts at bay by sharing an unbroken 72 runs for the third wicket, as the visitors ended the day at 312/2 with an overall lead of 162.
Stumps at the end of Day 2
India 312 for 2 (Jaiswal 143*, Rohit 103) vs West Indies 150 all out), lead by 162 runs.
