Ravichandran Ashwin claimed figures of 5/60 as India dominated Day 1 of the opening test by bundling out West Indies for 150 in Dominica on Wednesday.
The visitors handed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan their debut caps.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul got West Indies off to a steady start.
The duo added 31 runs for the opening stand before Ravi Ashwin broke the stand by cleaning up the latter for 12. With this victim, the star off spinner created a history by becoming the first Indian bowler to dismiss both father and son in tests.
Skipper Brathwaite perished soon after, slicing one to opposite number Rohit Sharma at covers. Raymon Reifer (2) then fell to a fine low catch by debutant Ishan Kishan behind the stumps off Shardul Thakur.
The hosts slumped even further when Jermaine Blackwood (14) fell to a brilliant one handed catch by Mohammed Siraj off Ravi Jadeja in the final delivery before lunch.
Alick Athanaze along with Jason Holder provided some resistance by putting on 41 runs for the sixth wicket stand before the latter pulled a short delivery from Siraj to Shardul at deep square leg for 18.
Athanaze (47) then fell three run short off a well deserved half century, miscuing a pull off Ashwin.
The 36 year old Ashwin then completed his 33rd five wicket haul by dismissing Jomel Warrican (1) caught at short leg by Shubman Gill, as the Windies were bundled out for 150.
In response, India finished at 80/0 at stumps at the end of Day 1 with debutant Jaiswal along with skipper Rohit Sharma undefeated on 40 & 30 respectively.
Stumps at the end of Day 1- India 80 for 0 (Jaiswal 40*, Rohit 30*) trail West Indies 150 (Athanaze 47, Ashwin 5-60, Jadeja 3-26) by 70 runs
