Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings Game 37 April 27 Jaipur Match Report 2023

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a magnificent 77 as Rajasthan Royals beat the Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Jaiswal got Rajasthan off to a fantastic start by taking on Akash Singh for three fours in the very first over. The left hander along with Jos Buttler put on 86 runs for the opening wicket before the latter was caught at long on by Shivam Dube off Ravindra Jadeja for 27.

Jaiswal and Skipper Sanju Samson put on 39 runs for the second wicket before Tushar Deshpande struck twice- first by dismissing Samson (17) caught in deep by Ruturaj Gaikwad, and then claiming the left hander Jaiswal caught at backward point off a slower delivery for a 43 ball-77.

Shimron Hetmyer (8) then chopped at a carrom delivery from Maheesh Theekshana back into his stumps.

Dhruv Jurel (34) and Devdutt Padikkal (27*) provided some lusty blows towards the end to lift Rajasthan Royals to a mammoth score of 202/5 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 203, openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway got Chennai off to a steady start. The duo added 42 runs for the opening stand before the latter was caught at mid off by Sandeep Sharma off Adam Zampa for 8.

Gaikwad (47) looked set for a big score, but he too perished skying a lofted hit off Zampa to Devdutt Padikkal.

Ravichandran Ashwin then struck a double blow in the 11th over, as Ajinkya Rahane (15) and Impact Player Ambati Rayudu (0) perished while trying to take on the off spinner.

The pair of Shivam Dube and Moeen Ali resurrected the innings with a valuable 51 run stand for the fifth wicket before the latter (23) slashed a delivery outside off from Australia’s Adam Zampa and was caught behind the stumps.

Dube scored a quickfire 33 ball-52 before being dismissed by Kuldip Yadav off the final delivery of the match. The Super Kings ended up with 170/6, thereby falling short by 32 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was named the Man of the Match for his blazing knock.
