Deepti Sharma claimed figures of 3/15 as India Women registered their second win by beating West Indies Women by six wickets at Newlands in Cape Town on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, West Indies Women got off to a bad start struck as Hayley Matthews (2) edged a short-of-a-length delivery from Pooja Vastrakar to wicket keeper Richa Ghosh.
The pair of Stafanie Taylor and Shemaine Campbelle put on 73 runs for the second wicket stand before Deepti struck twice- first by dismissing Campbelle (30) caught at short third man by Smriti Mandhana while attempting a reverse sweep and then trapping Stefaine (42) leg before wicket.
Chinelle Henry was then run out by Mandhana at back ward point while attempting a second run as West Indies slumped to 79/4.
Chedean Nation along with Shabika Gajnabi added 35 runs for the fifth wicket stand before the latter was cleaned up by Renuka Singh for a 13 ball-15.
All rounder Deepti claimed her 100th T20 wicket by claiming Afy Fletcher as the West Indies crawled to 118/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing 119, openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana got India Women off to a quickfire start. The duo raced to 28/0 in just 2 overs.
However Karishma Ramharack broke the partnership by dismissing Mandhana (10) stumped by Williams. Jemimah Rodrigues (1) then fell to a brilliant catch by Hayley Matthews off his own bowling.
Karishma then struck a body blow by dismissing the dangerous Shafali (28) caught at long leg by Fletcher, as the Women in Blue were in huge trouble at 43/3.
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh brought the innings back on track with a valuable 72 run stand for the fourth wicket before the former perished to Henry for 33.
Ghosh (44)* hit the winning runs in the end to take India to a comfortable six wicket win.
