Middlesex have signed in Indian seamer Umesh Yadav for the remainder of the 2022 county season in place of left arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi who returned home to prepare for Pakistan’s two-Test tour of Sri Lanka.
Yadav has been included in the XI for their ongoing match against Worcestershire which began in Northwood on Monday.
The 34 year old will also be available for the Royal London One-Day Cup. Umesh is also the latest Indian player to join veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, and all-rounders Washington Sundar and Krunal Pandya in County cricket.
While Pujara plays for Sussex, Sundar and Krunal have signed for Lancashire and Warwickshire respectively.
