Bangladesh vs South Africa Third ODI Centurion March 23 Match Report 2022

Taskin Ahmed claimed figures of 5/35 as Bangladesh claimed their maiden ODI series win by defeating South Africa by 9 wickets at the SuperSport Park Centurion on Wednesday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Africa openers Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock got their side off to a good start. The duo added 46 runs for the opening wicket before Mehidy Hasan Miraz drew first blood by dismissing the latter caught at long off by Mahmudullah for 12.

Taskin struck twice- first by dismissing Kyle Verreynne (9) and then getting the well set Janneman Malan for 39.

Skipper Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen fell cheaply as the hosts slumped to 83/5.

The 26 year old Taskin then ran through the visitors middle and lower order and claimed his second five wicket haul, as the hosts were skittled out for 154 in 37 overs.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed ended up with figures of 5/35, while Shakib Al Hasan claimed 2 wickets.

In reply, the visitors pair of Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das featured in a 127 run stand for the opening wicket before the latter (48) fell 2 run short of a well deserved fifty.

Skipper Tamim remained unbeaten on 87 off just 82 balls as Bangladesh reached the target in just 26.3 overs.
