David Miller’s fine 43-ball 62 and Chris Morris quickfire unbeaten 36 helped Rajasthan Royals defeat the Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first by RR skipper, Delhi Capitals got off to the worst possible start as they lost Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane early to Jaydev Unadkat.

Marcus Stoinis chipped a Mustafizur Rahman delivery to Jos Buttler at extra cover leaving DC in a big trouble at 37/4.

Rishabh Pant along with debutant Lalit Yadav brought the innings back on track with a valuable 51 run stand for the fifth wicket before the former was run out by a superb direct hit from Riyan Parag for a well made 51.

Cameos from Tom Curran and Chris Woakes propelled Delhi Capitals to 147/8 after 20 overs.

Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/15, while Mustafizur Rahman claimed 2 wickets.

Chasing 148, Chris Woakes provided Delhi the perfect start by dismissing Manan Vohra (9) and the dangerous Jos Buttler (2).

Sanju Samson edged a Kagiso Rabada delivery to Shikhar Dhawan at first slip in the 4th over.

Avesh Khan got into the act by dismissing Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag leaving Rajasthan reeling at 42/5.

David Miller and Rahul Tewatia anchored the innings with a fine 48 run stand for the sixth wicket before the latter was caught at midwicket by Lalit Yadav.

With 58 requiring off 30 balls, Miller launched Avesh Khan for 2 sixes before being caught at long on for an entertaining 62. His knock came off 43 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

All rounder Chris Morris held his nerve by scoring a breezy 36 off 18 balls as Rajasthan Royals reached the target of 148 with 2 balls to spare.

Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals with figures of 3/32, while Woakes and Rabada claimed 2 wickets.

Jaydev Unadkat was declared the Player of the Match.
