Tom Curran | Somerset fans a “bunch of peasants” August 2018 Vitality T20 Blast

England bowler Tom Curran did not hold back in his criticism of Somerset’s fans following his Surrey side’s narrow defeat in their Vitality T20 Blast game at Taunton.

Curran called it the “worst crowd I’ve experienced” and “a bunch of peasants setting a terrible example”

Somerset won the game by 4 wickets. Surrey batting first scored 176/9 in their 20, which Somerset overhauled with five balls to spare thanks to half centuries from Peter Trego and Corey Anderson.

Curran individually had a decent game- 21 runs off 12 balls with the bat, and 2/32 from 4 overs with the ball. On the same day, his younger brother Sam was part of the England team that skittled out India for 107 at Lord’s, with the 20 year old bowling a peach of a delivery to dismiss opposition wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik.
