Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings 21 April Match Report-2019

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s stunning knock of 84 went in vain as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Chennai Super Kings in a thriller at Bengaluru on Sunday. The one run win, secured thanks to a last ball run-out from Parthiv Patel, was RCB’s first over CSK since 2014.

The home side made two changes- Heinrich Klaassen dropped out as AB de Villiers returned from concussion, and Umesh Yadav came in for Mohammed Siraj. There were two changes for the visitors as well- MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo back in place of Karn Sharma and Sam Billings respectively.

Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match Report- 9 April 2019

Faf du Plessis scored an unbeaten 43, as Chennai Super Kings defeated cruised to a seven wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Tuesday.

Both teams went in with an unchanged line up.

After being put into bat by Chennai, Kolkata Knight Riders lost wickets of Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine and Nitish Rana with the score on 9.

Robin Uthappa looked good in his short stay, before perishing to a pull which landed in the safe hands of Kedar Jadhav at deep square leg off Deepak Chahar.

The visitors lost skipper Dinesh Karthik and youngster Shubman Gill, as KKR slumped at 47/6.

Andre Russell bailed KKR out of trouble to some extent by scoring a valuable fifty. His knock comprised of five fours and three sixes, as KKR finished at 108 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chahar was Super Kings best bowler as he claimed 3/20 in 4 overs, while Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir bagged 2 wickets each.

Chasing a target of 109, Shane Watson got off to a brisk start, by hitting two fours and one six, before being dismissed by Sunil Narine.

Suresh Raina failed cash in on the opportunity to make a big score as he fell to brilliant catch brilliant catch by Piyush Chawla for 14 runs.

Du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu batted cautiously as the duo added 46 runs for the third wicket, before the latter was caught by Nitish Rana off the 30 year old Chawla.

The 34 year old Proteas captain along with Kedar Jadhav added an unbeaten 30 run stand for the 4th wicket, as Chennai Super Kings reached the target of 109 runs comfortably with 16 balls to spare.

With this win, Chennai jumped to the top position in the IPL 2019, while Kolkata suffered their second loss.

Sunil Narine was Kolkata Knight Riders best bowler as he ended up with 2/24, while Piyush Chawla claimed a solitary wicket.

Deepak Chahar was declared the Man of the match for his brilliant spell.
