An excellent official crowd of 45,392 was present at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow to watch the Super Giants take on the Chennai Super Kings on April 18, 2024. After choosing to bowl first, LSG comfortably chased down the 177 set by CSK, in no small part thanks to the fine wonderful opening partnership between skipper KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock.
CSK’s 176 was primarily down to the fireworks of MS Dhoni lower down the order. The Ekana Stadium had plenty of yellow jerseys- primarily MSD fans, in the crowd, and he sent them into raptures of delight with a 9-ball-28 to give the innings some much needed impetus.
However LSG made light work of that target, with Rahul’s 53-ball-82 key to their chase. Both Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja were expensive on the evening and Nicolas Pooran’s late cameo saw LSG reach the target with one over to spare.
