Kuldeep Yadav claimed figures of 3/20 as Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Lucknow lost Quinton de Kock (19) leg before wicket by Khaleel Ahmed in the third over.

Khaleel claimed his second wicket by trapping the out of form Devdutt Padikal for 3. Kuldeep Yadav then got into the act- first by dismissing Marcus Stoinis who chipped a catch to Sharma off leading edge and then knocking over Nicholas Pooran for a golden duck.

Skipper KL Rahul looked good in his knock of 39, before slashing at a length ball from Kuldeep outside off behind the stumps . Deepak Hooda who came in as Impact Player top edged a pull off Ishant Sharma for 10.

Ayush Badoni bailed his side out of trouble by scoring a 35 ball-55 to take Lucknow to a competitive score of 167/7 in their 20 overs.

In response, openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner got Delhi off to a steady start. The duo added 24 runs for the opening stand before the latter (8) lobbed a delivery from Yash Thakur back on to his stumps while attempting a flick.

Shaw then fell to a brilliant diving catch by Nicholas Pooran off Ravi Bishnoi for 32. However Jake Fraser-McGurk along with Rishabh Pant added 77 runs for the third wicket stand before the former miscued a big hit off Naveen-ul-Haq for 55.

Skipper Pant fell soon after while trying to take on Bishnoi and was stumped by Rahul for 24 ball-41.

Tristan Stubbs (15)* hit the winning runs by smashing Arshad Khan for a maximum over midwicket, as Delhi reached the target with 11 balls to spare.
