Mustafizur Rahman claimed figures of 4/29 as Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, openers Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis got RCB off to a steady start. The pair added 41 runs for the opening stand before Mustafizur struck twice- first by dismissing skipper Du Plessis (35) and then removing Rajat Patidar for a duck.

Deepak Chahar then got into the act by dismissing Maxwell caught behind the stumps while trying to guide to third man for a golden duck. Kohli along with Cameron Green featured in a 35 run stand for the fourth wicket before the former fell to a fine catch at deep wicket, where Ajinkya Rahane took a fine sliding catch and lobbed to Ravindra for 21.

Bangalore lost half their side for 78 as Cameron Green was knocked over by Rahman while attempting to slash a short of length delivery.

The pair of Anuj Rawat (48) and Dinesh Karthik (38) resurrected the innings with a valuable 95 run stand for the sixth wicket stand to take RCB to a competitive score of 173/6 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 174, Chennai Super Kings openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra got their side off to a quickfire start.The pair added 38 runs for the opening stand before the former nicked at a wide delivery from impact player Yash Dayal to Green at slip who took a catch in the second attempt.

Rachin looked good in his innings of 37 before being caught at deep backward square by Patidar off Karn Sharma while attempting a slog sweep.

Ajinkya Rahane then chipped a short delivery from Green to Maxwell at square leg, who took a fine leaping catch. Green then claimed his second wicket by dismissing Daryl Mitchell who miscued a short ball to Patidar at long on.

Impact player Dube along with Ravindra Jadeja added an unbroken 66 run stand for the sixth wicket to take Chennai to a comfortable 6 wicket win.
