India vs England Fifth Test Day 3 Dharamsala Match Report 2024

Ravi Ashwin claimed figures of 5/77 as India beat England by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth and the final test in Dharamsala on Saturday.

Resuming their innings at 473/8, James Anderson claimed his 700th test wicket by dismissing Kuldeep Yadav for 30. Shoaib Bashir then claimed his five-fer by dismissing Jasprit Bumrah stumped for 20, as India were bowled out for 477 with an overall lead of 259.

In response, England got off to a bad start as Ben Duckett was cleaned up while trying to take on Ashwin for 2. Zak Crawley was caught at backward short leg by Sarfaraz Khan for 16.

The off spinner claimed his third wicket as Ollie Pope (19) top edged a sweep yo Yashasvi Jaiswal. The pair of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow added 56 runs for the fourth wicket stand before the latter was trapped leg before wicket by Kuldeep Yadav for a quickfire 31 ball-39.

Kuldeep then claimed the final wicket by dismissing Root caught at long off as India completed a 4-1 series win over England.
