Josh Hazlewood claimed his 11th five-wicket in front of 16,991 crowd as Australia beat West Indies by 10 wickets just before lunch on the third day of the opening test at Adelaide Oval on Friday.
Resuming at 73/6, Mitchell Starc dismissed both Joshua da Silva (18) and Alzarri Joseph (16). Hazlewood cleaned up Gudakesh Motie (3) as the visitors slumped to 94-9, still needing one run to avoid an innings defeat.
The pair of Shamar Joseph and Kemar Roche yet again produced a small rearguard action by adding 26 for the last wicket stand as the Windies were bowled out for 120, leaving the hosts a target of 26.
In response, Usman Khawaja had to retire hurt after being hit by a bouncer from Shamar Joseph .Marnus Labuschagne hit the winning run as the hosts coasted to a comfortable 10 wicket win.
The second and final test will be played on 25 January in Brisbane.
