Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson and skipper Hardik Pandya scored fine half centuries as India thumped West Indies by 200 runs in the third and the final one day international at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad on Tuesday.
After being asked to bat first, openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill got India off to a blazing start. The duo put on 143 runs for the opening stand.
Kishan got a reprieve in the second over when Carty dropped a catch at backward point off Kyle Mayers. on 9. The left hander capitalized on the opportunity by notching up his third consecutive half century before being stumped by Shai Hope off Yannic Cariah for a 64 ball-77.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (8) playing his second one day international, fell cheaply nicking at a pitched up delivery from Joseph to King at slip. The pair of Gill along with Sanju Samson added 69 runs for the third wicket stand before the latter miscued one to Hetmyer at mid off off Shepherd for 51.
Gill looked set for a hundred but fell for 85, caught at short midwicket by Cariah off Motie. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav put on 65 runs for the fifth wicket before the latter perished to a slower ball from Shepherd for 35.
