Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians Game 46 May 3 Mohali Match Report 2023

Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav scored fantastic half centuries as Mumbai Indians registered an emphatic win by defeating Punjab Kings by by six wickets at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Wednesday.

After being asked to bat first, Punjab Kings lost Prabhsimran Singh for 9 as he was caught behind the stumps off Arshad Khan.

Skipper Shikhar Dhawan (30) looked good before being stumped by Ishan Kishan off Piyush Chawla. Chawla then claimed his second wicket of his innings by cleaning up Matthew Short (27) with a googly.

However Liam Livingstone (82)* and Jitesh Sharma (49)* featured in an unbeaten 119 run stand for the fourth wicket to take Punjab to a massive score of 214/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 215, Rishi Dhawan got PBKS off to a dream start by dismissing Rohit Sharma, caught at deep third man by Darcy Short.

Australia all rounder Cameron Green then pulled a slower delivery from Nathan Ellis to Rahul Chahar at deep midwicket for 23.

Kishan along with Suryakumar Yadav put on an scintillating third wicket stand of 116 runs for the third wicket. The left hander reached his half century off just 29 balls, while Yadav achieved his landmark off 23 deliveries.

However Nathan Ellis broke the partnership by dismissing Suryakumar caught at short third man by Arshdeep Singh for a breezy 66. Left arm pacer Arshdeep then provided Punjab a glimmer of hope by dismissing Kishan off a short delivery for a 41 ball-75.

The pair of Tim David (19)* and Tilak Varma (26*) put on an unbeaten 38 run stand for the fifth wicket. Tilak finished the game in style by smashing for a maximum over long-off as Mumbai overhauled the target of 215 with 7 balls to spare.

Ishan Kishan was adjudged the Player of the Match for his stupendous knock.
