Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Game 43 May 1 Lucknow Match Report 2023

Skipper Faf du Plessis scored a defiant 44 as Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first openers Virat Kohli and Du Plessis got RCB off to a magnificent start. The duo added 62 runs for the opening wicket before Ravi Bishnoi broke the partnership by dismissing Kohli stumped for 31.

Anuj Rawat (9) who came in at No 3 holed out to Kyle Mayers at deep midwicket boundary off Krishnappa Gowtham. Glenn Maxwell and Suyash Prabhudessai fell soon after as RCB slumped to 90/4.

Naveen-ul-Haq then ran through the lower order as Lucknow restricted RCB to 126/9 in 20 overs.

Chasing 127, Lucknow got off to a disappointing start as Kyle Mayers (0) miscued an attempted big hit off Mohammed Siraj to Rawat.

Krunal Pandya (14) then was caught at long off by Virat Kohli off Glenn Maxwell. Lucknow were in deep trouble as Ayush Badoni (4) and Deepak Hooda (1) fell in quick succession leaving their side in trouble at 27/4.

Karn Sharma then struck two vital blows- first by dismissing Nicholas Pooran (9) and Marcus Stoinis (13). KL Rahul who injured himself while fielding, walked in at No 11 but it was too late as Lucknow were bowled out for 108, thereby losing the contest by 18 runs.
