Hayley Matthews scored a brilliant unbeaten 77 as Mumbai Indians Women thumped the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women by nine wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Monday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, openers Skipper Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine got RCB women off to a steady start. The pair added 39 runs for the opening wicket before Saika Ishaque struck twice- first by dismissing Devine (16) and then cleaning up Disha Kasat for a duck.

Skipper Mandhana looked good during her short stay before slicing one to Issy Wong at point off Matthews for 23. The Mumbai off spinner struck again by dismissing Heather Knight bowled for a golden duck.

The pair of Ellyse Perry and Richa Gosh added 28 runs for the fifth wicket stand before the former was run out by a brilliant direct hit by Humaira Kazi.

Gosh featured in yet another valuable 34 run stand for the sixth wicket alongside Kanika Ahuja before the latter was dismissed by Pooja Vastrakar for a 13 ball-22.

Shreyanka Patil (23) and Megan Schutt (20) provided some lusty blows towards the end as Bangalore Women were bowled out for 155 in 18.4 overs.

Chasing 156, Mumbai Indians Women openers Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia got their side off to a solid start. The pair added 45 runs for the opening wicket before the latter was trapped leg before wicket by Preeti Bose for 23.

Matthews (77)* and Sciver-Brunt (55)* featured in a scintillating unbeaten 114 run stand for the second wicket as Mumbai overhauled the target with 34 balls to spare.
